Hellboy: A Change is Coming

Mike
Mignola's Hellboy is back in June with
a new two-issue mini series called "The Island,"
which will be written and drawn by Mike.
Mignola says, ""This story is very odd
in that it's very much the end of the first chapter of Hellboy's
life... this is kind of transitioning Hellboy from
one kind of character to another kind of character...."
It's interesting and commendable that Mike wants to move
on with Hellboy. So many people would be satisfied
to keep on putting out the same types of stories.
Why "fix" something that ain't broke? And Hellboy
definitely isn't broken. What with a new movie in the works...
video games on the drawing board... new prose stories coming
out...
It would have been real easy for Mike Mignola to
sit back and rest on his laurels. I'm glad he's not and
plan to follow along to where ever he wants to take Hellboy.
If you think that you're up for the journey, then you might
want to check out the
full report.

Maybe
we ought to just call this the SIN CITY ZONE. I know
that I've been posting a LOT about the movie which opens
this Friday... but c'mon, how often does something
come along that's as cool as SIN CITY?
The Sin
City cd score is now available.
Guess what? I love it. I'll bet you're shocked.

Free Sneak Peek: Sin City DVD
Monday, March 28, 2005 9:40 AM
|

Let the countdown begin!
Sin City opens this Friday, and I can't remember
the last time I was so stoked to see a movie.
Tomorrow, Best Buy will have a sneak peek dvd
with clips from Sin City free with any "entertainment
software" purchase. It'll probably just contain clips
that have already been seen on the internet... but maybe,
just maybe, it'll have some cool stuff that we've
yet to see. I know that I'm going by in the morning to try
and snag a copy.
If you need something to satisfy your Sin
City addiction now, then click HERE

to read new interviews with Robert Rodriguez and
various cast members.

"I pity the fool."
Ask anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, who said

or poor, everyone knows about Mr. T.
What they may not know is that Mr. T
is getting his own comic book series! That's right,
his OWN COMIC BOOK series!
It'll be written by Chris Bunting,
with pencils by Neil Edwards and inks from Randy
Emberlin with colors by Don MacKinnon. The
first issue ships May 21st. You can find out more
info about the comic by clicking HERE
or HERE
or even
HERE.
So quit yer jibber-jabbering and check it

Mikalah Gordon

Mikalah
Gordon was voted off American
Idol last week, but my guess is that we haven't
seen the last of her.
Mikalah wasn't the best singer and it probably was
her time to leave American Idol... still she could
sing well enough to make it to the final eleven.
But my guess is that Mikalah may become better known
for something other than singing. She's only 17, yet has
the confidence of someone who's been on stage [tv] for years.
She's wacky and fun and even if you found her irritating,
I'll bet you enjoyed watching her.
And my prediction is that you'll get another chance in
the future.

Either Way, A Very Good Actor
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 6:07 PM
|
After
9 days of deliberations a jury has aquitted Robert
Blake of murdering his wife.
[Strange that his acquittal came on the same day that Scott
Peterson received the death penalty for murdering
his wife and unborn son.]
I'm a big fan of Blake's acting.
Blake, the man, seems to be a tortured soul. If
he's truly innocent, then I'm glad for the verdict.
If Blake really did kill his wife, then maybe
he was an even better actor than any of us guessed.

Frank Miller's Ultimate Experience
Monday, March 14, 2005 5:05 PM
|
For
years Frank Miller said that Sin City would
NEVER be made into a movie. Miller had worked in
the industry and saw how ideas were diluted in the
process of getting to the big screen. Frank
said that he'd NEVER let that happen to his baby, SIN
CITY.
Then along came Robert Rodriguez, who convinced
Frank that Sin City could be translated [not
adapted] into a movie. At first, Miller was skeptical...
but then he saw what Rodriguez could do.
Miller even got to sign on as co-director which
he called the "ulitmate experience." Click HERE
to read what else he has to say about it.
