Either Way, A Very Good Actor

 After
9 days of deliberations a jury has aquitted Robert
Blake of murdering his wife.
[Strange that his acquittal came on the same day that Scott
Peterson received the death penalty for murdering
his wife and unborn son.]
I'm a big fan of Blake's acting.
Blake, the man, seems to be a tortured soul. If
he's truly innocent, then I'm glad for the verdict.
If Blake really did kill his wife, then maybe
he was an even better actor than any of us guessed.

Frank Miller's Ultimate Experience

 For
years Frank Miller said that Sin City would
NEVER be made into a movie. Miller had worked in
the industry and saw how ideas were diluted in the
process of getting to the big screen. Frank
said that he'd NEVER let that happen to his baby, SIN
CITY.
Then along came Robert Rodriguez, who convinced
Frank that Sin City could be translated [not
adapted] into a movie. At first, Miller was skeptical...
but then he saw what Rodriguez could do.
Miller even got to sign on as co-director which

Don't Come Calling on Tuesday

Come Tuesday night at 10:00pm
the Zablo house will be on lockdown. No phone calls.
No e-mails. No "Honey, can you come here for a second."
That's because the fourth season of The
Shield premieres, and although I'll be DVRing
it, I don't want to miss even a second.
The Shield has been consistently
one of the best shows on tv, and I have no reason
to believe that this season will be any different. There's
a new Captain coming in, the Strike Force
has been disbanded and a couple of new characters [besides
Glenn Close] will come to the forefront.
The
website has been updated with character profiles,
wallpapers, teaser trailers and more. It's going to be
a great point to jump on board, if you haven't watched.
If you already watch, then I'm preaching to the choir.
And don't worry, I won't be bothering you
during the premiere!

Diesel Pacifies w/ 2 Projects

Diesel was born to play Riddick. And despite the
fact that the "Pitch
Black" sequel didn't live up to expectations,
I would love to see Riddick's return.
And it appears that Diesel would as well.
According to Dark
Horizons, Diesel has been quoted as saying,
"I've always had 'C2' planned. I'm silently
- and I shouldn't even say this - I'm silently working on
"C2" with some of the outlines that were
created when I first thought of doing the three films."
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!
The return of Riddick right after Diesel's
pet project [which he will direct and star in], "Hannibal."
And, no, we're NOT talking about Hannibal Lector.

Hootie...
Your Way

Have you seen the Burger King commercial
that's so bad it's good? The spot features an African-American
singing cowboy, some Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders,
some hot chicks in "Daisy Duke" shorts
and the Burger King.
The first couple of times I saw the commercial
I couldn't look away. And it wasn't just the babes
in short-shorts. The guy singing looked and sounded
so familiar. And then it hit me!
The singer was Darius Rucker. You
know, Hootie. As in Hootie and the Blowfish!
A few years ago it seemed like every other
song that you heard on the radio was by Hootie and
the Blowfish. The funny thing was that everyone loved
their songs. Young, old, black, white, Hispanic... it
didn't matter because Hootie and the Blowfish could
do no wrong.
And just as quickly as they appeared, Hootie
and crew faded. And now Darius is crooning for
Burger King.
I wonder what the Blowfish are up
to?

By now most SZoners know that Sin City
is based on Frank Miller's comic books by the
same name.
And most of you know that Frank Miller is
co-directing with Robert Rodriguez.
You probably even know that Miller's original
comic panels have been used as storyboards for the
movie [which premieres April 1st].
But, did you know that by clicking on THIS
