Books

F.I.S.T. by Joe Eszterhas

© 1978 / pictured: 2nd Printing Dell edtion paperback, May 1978

"The hammering novel of the making of a union - and a man."

Sly and Eszterhas had a falling out over the screenplay.

First Blood by David Morrell

© 1972 / pictured: 1st Ballentine edition paperback, November 1982

"Nobody in the small Kentucky town knew his name was Rambo. All they knew was that
he was a stranger... and that he looked like trouble. Rambo was trouble. The Army had trained him in the art of killing and now he did not know how to stop."

The novel was written a decade before it was made into a movie. David Morrell is one of my favorite writers [and has been since I first read this book in 1973]. If you haven't read First Blood, you should!

Fatalis by Jeff Rovin.

Fatalis was optioned by Universal with the hope that Sly would star in it.
Jeff Rovin also is the author of a Sly biography.

This is a well-written novel. Saber-tooths in modern day LA!

Hunter by James Byron Huggins.

Huggins wrote Hunter specifically for Sly. Huggins is one of my favorite authors.
Read Hunter and you'll know why.

Highest recommendation.
