USA Today features an article by Scott Bowles about the extra bonus material found on DVDs. References to "Driven" are made which will excite most STALLONE fans.

"After five takes of an elaborate race scene for his movie Driven, director RENNY HARLIN requested yet another shoot. The crew was growing tired and frustrated. Didn't they have enough footage? 'Yes, for the film,' HARLIN responded. 'But we need more for the DVD...' "HARLIN shot 1.5 million feet of film - 150 times longer than the movie itself - and his first cut of Driven ran longer than 4 1/2 hours. You can't see that race epic at the local cineplex, but you may on DVD, he says.HARLIN also hopes to turn the disc into a video game of sorts, allowing viewers to take "virtual races" in the movie, as well as choose camera angles and character perspectives."

From Total Film: Guns and Ammo: STALLONE to Ressurect Rambo IV?
With mad George Dubble-Yer squatting in the White House. what better time for Hollywood to ressurect the grand-daddy of Republican chest-beating '80's throwbacks? Be afraid: Miramax big-wig Bob Weinstein wants to get "Rambo IV" into American cinemas for 2003. So far, RICHARD CRENNA [grumpy army fella] and BRIAN DENNEHY [grumpy smalltown sherif] have both apparently agreed to reprise their roles. with Mr. SLY uhmming and duuhing until he sees the final script, which writers' strike permitting should be completed in late summer. "We'd love nothing more than for STALLONE to be involved. We think it's a billion dollar franchise," Weinstein babbled. And the plot? Depressingly Die Hardesque with Mr. Rambo taking on drug dealers hidingin a government building. And despite previous rumours pitching JACKIE CHAN as an evil drug lord, it now seems more likely he would pop up as [oh, the horror] a chopsocky Rambo buddy.

From Mike Walker's All the Gossip column in the The National Enquirer:

GONE IN 60 SECONDS: ROCKY start for SLY STALLONE after he arrived in Italy to film "Avenging Angelo" - then roared off in a stranger's car in a scene right out of "Driven"! The star exited a trattoria after a business lunch, spotted his leased car as a valet drove it up, hopped in - and BOOGIED!! Problem? The car, although identical,
WASN'T HIS! The valet ran screaming after SLY, but he didn't hear - and moments later, the REAL owners were screaming at the valet! Meanwhile, after driving a few blocks, STALLONE said to himself, "YO! This car ain't MINE!" He floored it back to the eatery and confronted an enraged Italian couple - whose mouths dropped open when they recognized the superstar car thief. They calmed quickly when SLY apologized - AND signed autographs!

TNT/TBS Pay $16 mil for ``Driven,'' 3 More Pix By John Dempsey

NEW YORK (Variety) - Warner Bros. Pictures has sold the network window of ``Driven,'' ``Angel Eyes,'' ``Exit Wounds'' and ``The Dish'' to Turner Broadcasting's TNT and TBS. Turner will pay a total license fee for the four movies of about $16 million and will start premiering them in December 2003.

The license fee amounts to about 15% of the domestic gross of each movie, which means STEVEN SEAGAL starrer ``Exit Wounds'' will cost far more than the three others, having grossed $51.8 million in U.S. theaters. ``Driven,'' starring SYLVESTER STALLONE, is heading toward a domestic gross of $34 million and JENNIFER LOPEZ' ``Angel Eyes'' should wind up at about $25 million.

It's interesting that although "Exit Wounds" made the most at the box office, it was "Driven" that made the headline. - Craig Zablo

LOS ANGELES [The Hollywood Reporter -Excerpt from Brett Sporich's column] --- Warner Home Video's open-wheeled action film "Driven" featuring KIP PARDUE and SYLVESTER STALLONE earned an estimated $5.49 million during its debut, representing a healthy 16.8% of its estimated $32.4 million domestic boxoffice, according to Video Store magazine. The VHS version of "Driven" was not retail priced.

While "Driven" placed sixth after its first five days on rental shelves, it pulled up just under the pole position at No. 2 on VideoScan's First Alert DVD sales chart for the week ending Sept. 23.

Mike Walker's "All the Gossip" column in The National Enquirer contains the following:

EMPTY NEST: SYLVESTER STALLONE plunked down a cool $16 million to buy the huger home next to his BevHills mansion for his mom JACKIE. But she told SLY "No thanks," saying she prefers to stay in her ONE-BEDROOM pad in bustling Santa Monica rather than vegetate in SLY's secluded estate. [Yo! LOS ANGELES [Excerpted from The Hollywood Reporter] --- CBS is adding some film firepower to its 2002 drama development slate.

The network is finalizing a deal with Brad Grey Television for a project tentatively titled "The Priest," which is based on an idea by SYLVESTER STALLONE.

"The Priest" centers on a nonconformist priest in a big city, who helps both homeless and rich people with their problems, while struggling with personal problems of his own, including fidelity. The project is expected to get a premium script deal from CBS.

Brad Grey is in conversations with writer Cynthia Cidre ["The Mambo Kings"] to come on board and co-create the show with STALLONE. STALLONE will executive produce the project, and JIMMY VERES, who runs the television division of the actor's Sylvester Stallone Co., will produce.

STALLONE has been very active in television lately. He recently sold a NASCAR-themed pitch to NBC.

STALLONE, who most recently co-starred in "Driven," and his company are repped by ICM.

November 27th, 2001
From Dark Horizons - Dolan's Cadillac: The New York Daily News reports that SYLVESTER STALLONE is out of this short story turned movie thriller which was set to start shooting very soon and is based on the first tale from STEPHEN KING's Nightmares & Dreamscapes anthology. The paper indicates that he may have left due to a new 'non-violence' policy SLY is adopting for his roles these days thus playing a violent gangster is kind of out of the question. KEVIN BACON is still set to play the teacher who gets revenge on the gangster who killed his wife by slowly burying him alive, though how much of a delay there will be due to SLY's leaving remains unsure.

November 29th, 2001
From Dark Horizons - Dolan's Cadillac: The New York Daily News seems to have found a reason for STALLONE's departure from the project, and it ain't the "non violence clause" excuse that emerged the other day - seems SLY "upped his money demands at the last minute" though the official word from his publicists is that the actor "thought the project had been dropped". STACY TITLE ["The Last Supper"] is still attached to direct the film based on her script adaptation of the STEPHEN KING short story. Thanks to 'AB King'.

Army Archerd, Daily Variety Senior Columnist, posted in his column: ``Rocky'' steps into the ring again -- this time on stage. SYLVESTER STALLONE heads to N.Y. next week to talk a musicalized version of the hit pix. He cowrote the book, would produce ``and oversee'' the Broadway version. As for STALLONE's film future, he says he's re-interested in doing ``Dolan's Cadillac,'' and will do it next year.
