boyhood hero. He was Mr. Universe, who did all those great Hercules
movies. I was really into strongman fantasies as a kid: Superman,
Tarzan, all the Saturday afternoon serials at the local theaters,
Commander Cody, and Buck Rogers. I grew up on that stuff, so
when the time came for me to do Rocky or Rambo or Cobra, these
characters took on a larger-than-life quality, and I just slipped
inside them like they were alter egos." |
